Slow growing when young. Treat as a dwarf for the first 10 years. It then grows faster. Great for all gardens as when it gets older it is quite narrow for its height. It makes a fine tub plant as it is able to withstand long periods of dry conditions.

The California Redwood is a majestic forest giant in its natural habitat. It will need a permanent space to develop as it is very large and long lived. The upwardly mobile trunk is strong and straight with attractive reddish brown bark. Attractive feathery foliage sprays of green. Evergreen.

This handsome tree grows best in well drained, deep rich soil in filtered sunlight or part shade. Looks wonderful in a natural group. A tree to plant for the grand-children. Height given is 10 year estimate.
